Lighting a Universe of Ideas: Pikseo Headquarters

The new Pikseo headquarters in Toruń is inspired by the concept of space — not as a literal theme, but as a metaphor for the invisible world of data, algorithms and strategies. The idea also subtly references the legacy of Nicolaus Copernicus and the city’s scientific heritage.

Designed by Aleksandra Hyz and Aleksandra Mętlewicz, the interior translates this concept into a refined composition of materials, geometry and light. Rather than using obvious cosmic motifs, the design creates a layered spatial experience where lighting plays a key role in shaping atmosphere, orientation and comfort.

For LUXIONA, this project highlights the value of customised lighting solutions in supporting both architectural vision and everyday functionality.

A key feature is the integration of X-Line Slight luminaires within acoustic ceiling islands above workstations. Finished in a custom light grey, they seamlessly blend with the ceiling design while providing uniform, energy-efficient illumination and emphasising the rhythm of the space.

Customisation defines the project. Luminaires across the interior were produced in bespoke finishes to match different zones. Sculptural elements such as Artshape Round LED Edge introduce soft, rounded forms and diffused light, while Pipe Suspended luminaires in carefully selected tones add warmth and coherence.

Accent lighting enhances the composition. Luxcan Mini spotlights precisely highlight selected areas, while Tytan Stalactite Slim luminaires introduce distinctive colour accents, reinforcing the identity of the space.

The result is a balanced, layered lighting environment that supports both aesthetics and user comfort. This project demonstrates how tailored lighting, combined with efficient LED technology, can become an integral part of architectural storytelling — adding real value to contemporary workplaces.
