Built in 1914, the Old Chemistry Building at the West Pomeranian University of Technology houses the Rector's Office and the Institute of Inorganic Chemical Technology and Environmental Engineering.
The goal of the project was to seamlessly integrate modern lighting fixtures without compromising the building's historical integrity. By using Artshape architectural lighting in its Round version, it was possible to enhance the space aesthetically and functionally while respecting its storied past The choice of fixtures aimed not only to professionally illuminate the area but to elevate the ambiance, by placing the luminaires strategically beneath the beautiful arched vaults, forming a captivating blend of modernity and history.
The project is a perfect example of how innovative lighting solutions can breathe new life into historical spaces. The significance of it extends beyond its technical achievements. Luxiona's approach exemplifies a broader trend in architectural design, emphasizing the importance of combining modernity with cultural heritage. In doing so, the company not only enhances the functionality, sustainability, and energy efficiency of historical spaces but also contributes to the preservation of their cultural identity.
